These Aerochambers (aka spacers) are often used in pediatric asthma to help deliver at least some medication; however, these spacer can also be used improperly & a portion of the medication inevitably gets deposited on the inner walls of the chamber. The hand-held inhaler when used correctly w/o the spacer is generally considered more effective...it's a direct shot into the upper airway. I was referring to another form of inhalation that can provide more positive pressure to direct the medication into the airway in select circumstances.
And there are other ways to deliver medication for ventilated or hospitalized patients requiring nebulized/inhaled treatments. Helium-oxygen mixtures have also been shown in the inpatient setting to improve laminar flow & decrease airway resistance which could potentially improve aerosolized drug delivery. So an inhaled therapeutic that TLT may or may not investigate could potentially have a positive impact on the entire disease spectrum. JMO...& sorry for my rambling again. Good luck...
