Job description of the general Accountant
The General Accountant will be responsible for the following:
Responsibilities & Tasks
*Perform day-to-day processing of all accounts payable transactions such as receiving and verifying invoices, data entry for payment and issuing daily and bi-monthly cheques. Maintain accounts payable ledger
*Perform day-to-day processing of all account’s receivable transactions such as daily deposits, posting of payments, balancing, and printing of daily reports, and collection calls. Maintain accounts receivable ledger
*Process General Ledger on a daily basis
*Month-end balancing of all account payables and receivables
*Participate in month-end close process
*Monthly bank reconciliations
*Monthly sales tax remittances
*Assist in preparation of monthly internal statements, quarter statements and year-end audit file
