Dear Member,
I am writing to advise you that SAG-AFTRA, the DGA, IATSE and Teamsters and Basic Crafts, and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers have agreed to extend the Return to Work Agreement until April 30, 2022, with a few changes that reflect the evolving circumstances of the pandemic.
Changes in the agreement include:
- Updating the definition of what it means to be “fully vaccinated” and “up to date” on vaccines to include COVID vaccine boosters in the United States, as of March 15, 2022.
- Upgraded mask requirements, including KN95, KF94 or N95 masks provided by the employer.
- Refreshing the COVID-19 sick leave bank for all cast and crew to 10 days.
- Adding a number of additional antigen tests that are authorized for use.
- Member safety is SAG-AFTRA’s highest priority. Working with our sister unions, the protocols were crafted based on scientific consensus and the best data available.
Since the protocols were implemented on Sept. 21, 2020, they have proven extremely effective in protecting cast and crew from undue COVID risk in the workplace.
To remain successful, the system requires everyone’s cooperation. If you have any on-set safety concerns, please immediately report them to our 24-hour safety hotline at (844) SAFER SET / (844) 723-3773.
Sincerely,
Duncan Crabtree-Ireland
National Executive Director
