RE:RE:RE:RE:We need WSB memes I'll try to be be civil in my response. I don't like JT any more than you do but for different reasons. That said I wonder if you can give us the name of one country that doesn't have a government setting policies for all its citizens to follow, subjectively good or bad. Not one where civil disobedience runs rampant but a country with a government not enacting laws for all to follow.
IMO...Canadians are generally peaceniks, not going to win wars on our own without help. Our three sailors in a rowboat aren't going to stop an aircraft carrier. We're basically powerless against foreign threats and a soft stand alone target. Doesn't mean we won't defend it. The truckers decision to confront the govt head on was a strategic move on their part, attack what they believe is the country's weakest link. In their minds it's Justin. A test of not only JT's policies but resolve as well. If anything I think the truckers believe JT lacks toughness, though I think the majority of Canadians feel that way. IDK. Even if proved accurate, what does a blockade accomplish other than possibly acknowledge what most people think of JT regardless? Fortunately for JT he has laws at his disposal, not necessarily of his own doing, to prevent an assault on PM's character, party, country and most of all its citizens . Maybe they wished to force an election but didn't count on the house supporting JT, especially the NDP. IOW, in part, politicians in power or not realize these kind of movements are dangerous because some day they may be on the hot seat.
JMO but I think the truckers most glaring error was to make this personal, them vs Trudeau. Timing was all wrong with country/world coming off a pandemic, facing inflation and job losses, etc, you name it. If you're like me then who has time for a ragtag bunch of upset truckers? We're all in the same overloaded boat and the truckers unfortunately are not the life preserver, perhaps an anchor.
