China Built 40,000km High Speed Rail in 15 years.. includingbuilding countless bridges and tunnels through mountains.  To give you an idea of how much that is, I think that's more than the rest of the world combined.    Driving Distance from Vancover to Halifax across Canada is only 6165 km.

Kinder Morgan requested to expand Trans Mountain in 2013.   Canada bought it in 2018.   It's now 2022.    Almost 10 years !!!!!!    And it's still not done.
