Depending on your broker you probably can place a bid on the debentures. The trading desk will probably eventually catch it and reject your bid.

The debentures are not going to be trading again. The news release stated something to the effect of the debentures are to be redeemed this past Tuesday (or maybe it was Wednesday). The transfer agent can't do anything relating to transfers until this past Wednesday, as there is a two-day clearing. Anyone that would have purchased or sold a week ago today would not have those debentures clear until after the markets close this past Tuesday.

At that time they will calculate interest due and then communicate with each of the holders of the debetures (presumably your broker most of the time). By the time everything gets done that needs to be done in the back offices, you will probably see the shares show up in your account this coming Tuesday (maybe Wednesday) depending on your broker.

At that time once the exchange has occured, the transfer will notify the exchange and the debentures will be de-listed.
