Only if the injected stem cell islets cause IBMIR ( instant blood-mediated inflammatory reaction) would the pouch prove useful as you can only inject into the liver a couple times before you potentially ruin your liver. Maybe as a plan B for those who try the liver injection and it doesn't take. Time will tell.
