Vertex is showing good results with their cells but its not a surprise the IPSC cells work. The challenge will be in immunosuppression and long term safety both of which are more probable with a device IMO.

Whoever is looking to acquire Vertex could easily scoop up Sernova as part of a package deal that would increase chances of success, derisk and eliminate the competition. If you're looking at spending billion 61billion it makes 1.5 billion for Sernova a rounding error.
