I can see cleaner forms of fuel are the future, but realistically it will be a couple of decades before people start driving EVs en masse.  

this move toward greener fuels is largely vocalized by North Americans and Europeans 

Meanwhile Asia, which has the fastest growing middle class, will be buying more and more gasoline vehicles. Not to mention this green movement is up to this point being largely ignored in countries such as China,India, etc (the rest of the world)

so the process of phasing out fossil fuels will be a long process, and Canadian Oil and Gas companies have the highest standards of how that fossil fuel is extracted and developed these will be the companies to benefit from the transition to green

As a side note: Even the most ardent protesters go to work in gasoline cars, take trips on airplanes, heat their homes and businesses with fossil fuels, and buy goods that are made using fossil fuels.
point being, this transition will be over the long term
