What I have noticed is the short % is near triple some others...so you have some funds I believe and a very small portion of retail shorting the individual name
Just a couple I know off the top of my head I think WCP, MEG, CPG all around 1.5% short float versus BTE around 4%
So that for me is an additional targetted 8.5M BTE shares short above the norm give or take.
Just my opinion but most of that would not be retail small players like the ones you see here posting on the boards.
You won't clear the base as there will always be bears...but the buybacks will start tackling the targetted shorts.
As someone pointed out some companies have double digiti short positions so you can argue big shorts or not...I am just saying in my opinion we have 8-9 million shorts to battle.
