RE:Your honest opinion on long term shareholders valueI think a lot of people have concerns about long term holds in the energy sector. Many are still showing the scars from the past.
Just my opinion, but I think looking at the past is not a good indication of the future in all regards. I think everyone invested here knows and understands the risks but we all have good reason to feel very positive about Cenovus and the future for the energy sector. I think we're extremely undervalued here so I simply won't sell my shares at a discount. The high oil prices seem to have investors nervous instead of excited. I've protected my investment as best as I can and haven't sold a share.
Ignoring all the major risks, my bulish prediction is $45-$50 range in the next 5years if they can pay off all their debt, buyback 20%+ of their shares, pay a reasonable dividend and oil averages $65-70+.

Unfortunately I didn't average down during the massive dips of the last couple years. I've always been a long term divided investor and I'm on the fence now about if I should sell a portion or all. I'd still be selling at a loss (roughly 30%) but just glad I didn't panic sell when we were in the 5's. I have concerns about long term holds in oil. I am still about 10 years to retirement but have my reservations on holding. Any insights would be appreciated. Good luck to all.
