Artis Real Estate Investment Trust is an unincorporated closed-end REIT based in Canada. Artis REIT's portfolio comprises properties located in Central and Western Canada and select markets throughout the United States, including regions such as Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Arizona, Minnesota, Colorado, New York, and Wisconsin. The properties are divided into three categories: office, retail, and industrial. The industrial properties account for most of the portfolio, followed by the office properties and the retail properties.

RE:Q4 results

I consider this a solid year, and expect Q1 to look even better. Since the cream of the Cominar portfolio was sold to outside parties, I assume we shall soon learn that the Cominar assets were acquired at a significant discount to book value. This will create an immediate boost to unitholder equity and corresponding to that, my favourite entry in the Statement of Earnings: discount on bargain purchase.
