RE:yes, how long has the unrest been going on? Well, Thanks for the challenge. I looked it up. The earliest reference I have is 2006.

POPULATION OF BRITAIN IS NOT VIOLENT
Mar 4, 2022Present
Inhabitants of Brittany and its 18 localities and communities, rejected being called violent by AIDECOBAP, foreigners who live from the social conflicts in Puinahua and only represent the interests of advisers and leaders.
They referred to the last Wednesday, the day on which the prosecution and Port Authority visited Brittany and verified the actions of AIDECOBAP. They requested that the State take action in the face of these types of events and guarantee their constitutional right to free transit.
“They restrict our transit through Brittany, to have electricity and water in Brittany and to continue advancing with the projects that we develop with PetroTal, which cannot unload its food, transfer its personnel and ship its crude oil,” they point out in a statement.
They work with PetroTal in the execution of 18 projects, but they assure that they did not demand that the money representing these investments be deposited in their bank account.
“We are and will continue to be residents of Puinahua even when oil activity ceases. We supervise the company and demand that it not go ahead with agreements that involve giving money to an organization that only seeks its own benefit.”
