RE:RE:RE:yes, how long has the unrest been going on?
In the public opinion, The National Authorities and the population of Puinahua, Iquitos and of all our country.
We inform you that the people of Puinahua and its authorities represent 100% of the population of Bretana and its 18 localities and communities, we are peaceful people dedicated to earn their living by the sweat of their brow through fishing, agriculture and commercial activities and we OPENLY REJECT THAT WE ARE CALLED VIOLENT by a group like AIDECOBAP, which only represents the interests of consultants who live off social conflicts and leaders who lead our Puinahua people towards violence.
The actions of AIDECOBAP limit and restrict our transit through Bretana to embark through our dock, to be able to have electricity and water in Bretana, to continue advancing in our programs and projects that we develop with Petrotal, since the latter cannot disembark its food, move its personnel and embark its crude oil.
We are working with Petrotal on the execution of 18 projects, but at no time have we demanded that the money that these investments represent be deposited to our bank account. We do not promise to distribute money nor do we promote aidism in order to pretend credibility. WE ARE AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE INHABITANTS OF PUINAHUA, EVEN IF THE OIL ACTIVITY CEASES. We also supervise the company and we have demanded that it does not go ahead with agreements that imply giving money to an organization that only seeks its own benefit.
Yesterday, the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Port Captaincy were visiting Bretana and have become aware of the facts and have been able to confirm the actions of AIDECOBAP. That is why we ask the State to take the corresponding actions against this type of facts, to guarantee our constitutional right to free transit, for our people, for our river and also to guarantee the free act of the people.
We are not enemies, we are not extortionists, we are not criminals we are not profiteers, we are Puinahua, hard working people, honest peaceful people who seek the development of is people with its effort in co-ordination with the private enterprise and with the participation of the State.
Puinahua belongs to everyone who lives and works here, not to those who only come when they want money, or when they run out of money.
