RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Bank is calling its loans to Media Central? Huh?Let me just toss out the idea that something very powerful -- or several things -- might be created from the hypothetical implosion of Media Central.
I'm not thinking of Michael Howlett's new monthly, which seems entirely last-century in spite of its sad determination to be "with it." I believe there will be a few money guys around town who could be intrigued with the idea of a startup local media venture staffed by experienced content folks and not burdened with know-nothing management and numbskull investors.
Case in point: Zoomer Media just paid $15 million for BlogTO. On the one hand, that's a certifiably crazy valuation, and Znaimer must have been at a weak moment. On the other hand, it suggests someone sees something of value in local content franchises, even one as obviously lame as BlogTO.
