Mark Nelson is a great resource on twitter for this, given age of spent fuel would take weeks or months for water to boil off. Even then any raditation leaks would be hyper localized. 

I sympthaize with Ukraine agencies try to wrap in NATO or other nearby countries for support, but unfortuntely this is at the expense of creating hysteria about nuclear power - which if not for the fear could single handedly solve our existenial global warming crisis. 

Anyway, when it comes to these nuclear power plant issues in Ukraine. I've been relying on Mark Nelson for technical analysis, when it comes to market perception I'm stepping out of the U Twit echo chamber and using the CNN test. When there was a fire at the other plant that was the main CNN splash page for 12 hours. I couldn't even find chernobyl on their site now. These overblown nuclear plant fears run the risk of a becoming a cry wolf scenario. 

Again, I very much sympathize with the plight and if I were in there shoes would be doing anything to bring in internaitonal support. Just sucks it has to be at the expense of nuclear power, but I don't think any of these will have a long-lasting effect on perception outside of the fearmongers like the Greens in Germany that are vehemently against nuclear power already.
