It is a miracle that CVE survived that disastrous deal courtesy of the "brilliant" Mr. Fergusson.
It will go down as one of the worst deals in oil patch history. To take a company that had the best balance sheet in the industry and saddle it with a huge debt load was bad enough but to then add insult to injury by a offering a sweetner above 52 bucks a barrel was just unbelievable.
And to think our resident kook (well one of many on this thread I guess) calls this guy a genius. Too funny.
This miraculous run of free cash flow is all that has saved shareholders from a mega-billion disaster but hey I'll take it. It came in at what looked like five minutes to midnight for both CVE and HSE.
Anyway, here's to better times and hopefully 25 bucks per share in May.
