RE:Quebec

RE:Quebec
Now my question is did CRE apply for assistance and were refused or did they not apply ? If they were refused that does not bode well for our Project and might explain their lolly-gaggin on our Permit. Also maybe they did not apply and now perhaps the Government has a axe to grind, due to CRE not capitulating and begging for assistance ?

Minerals of the Future - Quebec announces financial assistance for exploration projects for critical and strategic minerals

QUEBEC CITY, March 10, 2022 /CNW Telbec/ - The Government of Quebec is announcing the allocation of financial assistance of $685,680 to three exploration projects for critical and strategic minerals (MCS), also called minerals of the future. This is significant support to support projects valued at more than $1.4 million.
This financial assistance is being paid by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (MERN) as part of the first call for projects under the 2021-2024 Mining Exploration Support Program for Critical and Strategic Minerals. The objective of this program is to encourage mining exploration companies to carry out exploration projects to discover MCS deposits, as well as to support them and help them meet the technical, environmental and geometallurgical challenges posed by Quebec's geological context.

3 Companies below who applied and received
Geomega Resources -  $400,000 - Develop a process for recovering rare earth elements and niobium from the bastnaesite-carbonatite deposit at Montviel.
Imperial Mining - $242,355 - Increase the concentration of high quality scandium oxide and produce rare earth concentrate in the form of carbonate. Crater Lake Project
Sayona Quebec - $43,325 - Test the quality of pegmatite samples from a deposit and its economic viability, in addition to defining the possibility of producing chemical-grade spodumene concentrate

Applications were assessed by a committee made up of MERN specialists and independent experts, based on criteria concerning the economic development potential and the technical aspects of the project, as well as the business expertise of the team responsible for it. Details can be found in the Applicant Guide, available online. Quote: “This announcement is part of the Government of Quebec's desire to be a leader in the exploration and development of our minerals of the future, essential for the energy transition and for a green economy. I congratulate the companies whose projects have been selected. »

Highlights: The first call for projects ended on October 1, 2021. A second call was launched on January 17 and ended on March 4, 2022. The maximum rate of financial assistance paid by the MERN is 50% of eligible expenses up to a maximum of $400,000 per project. It is possible for a company to participate more than once, provided that each request relates to a distinct project. Thanks to this program, the government is pursuing action 2.2.1 “Enhance support for basic exploration for CSMs” of the Qubec Plan for the Development of Critical and Strategic Minerals 2020-2025 (PQVMCS).
