RE:Traders versus investors"
The main difference between a trader and an investor is the duration for which the person holds the asset.
Hey Nobody.
Sorry I keep hitting the send button today without responding.
Anyway here's my take on the topic of Day traders and long term Investors. I've highlighted in yellow, to the part of your assumption, Nobody, that I want to liken my opinion or response to.
I think the duration of Holding the Asset is the key here.
If I may Personify. If the "Bomber the Stock", was a good looking women, or man, (for the Female investors here on the Board). Then, "The Day Trader" would take out that good looking person BBD.B, once or twice, and then have their way with them, and get rid of the relationship, and go to the next. Where as the Long Term Investor would like the Stock, or beatiful women/men, and keep on dating her/him for their attributes.
It just so happens that some people (like Day Traders) get easily bored of other mates, and some (Long Investors), keep a good thing around. "Better the devil u know, than one you don't they say".
So Day Traders can't commit to BBD.B because, she's been a bad girl, lied, and cost them too much money, on their dates, or was too demanding, untrustworthy etc.
But Long term guys liked the (BBD.B) sexy attributes, and kept them around because the women/man, changed over the years by 2021, to become less of a princess, and therefore BBD.B is much less Maintenance now.
I thing the latter happened to me. Where I saw the Share price go up to $5.58 in 2018, and I did very well. The company was great, But I knew it wasn't run well. Then (PB & AB), NOT the stock of BBD.B lied to me, the Long term Investor. So the price started to freefall to 25 cents. But then a funny thing happened to me. The high Maintenance wasn't a problem anymore. Because by the end of 2020, I averaged down to a good price. I realized that BBD.B wasn't the LIAR. It was PB & AB, and "The Princess" was working well, she got a job, and the lying stopped. So in fact. She'll be working and paying off her debt, for those expensive dinners, I spent of her.
So the moral to the story is. "Better the devil you know, than the one you don't;.
But I also get bored easily with mates, and Stocks. Does that make me a Day Trader too??? Not an Investor? HA HA HA. Sorry couldn't help myself.
