It looks like the Russians are striving to occupy, or destroy, the whole country. Western nations seem to be equipping the Ukrainian army and thousands of Westerners are volunteering to fight for the Ukraine and the Russians are claiming that African/Middle Eastern countries are contributing to their side. Therefore, a quick end to the conflict is unlikely... it's another Afghanistan. If Russia topples the Ukrainian government as seems likely right now, sanctions will probably apply to oil/gas from the Kub property. Good luck trying to sell it or extract profits from it.
