RE:RE:TSE index variation since the beginning of 2022Just want to make a comment on your investment style:
A sound and solid way to invest and a model for new comers not familiar with the stock market.
I agreed 100% that it's all about income but not on ''the
never having to sell anything ''but understand that you need that income for living which is not my case.
By the way i'm solving my cash problem just tranfering to my dauther some funds in her TFSA and investing in high paying dividend stocks.
I cannot say happy trading ( because you d'ont trade) but wishing you a ''good health''
SargeX wrote: You sure can go on about this. You're assuming a person is just buying an index fund on the TSX. If a person is invested in nice safe dividend income/growth stocks, then they would be doing better (not that total returns really matter to me & my wife. It's all about the income and never haivng to sell anything).
Anyway, we're up +6.12% YTD and haven't had to do all the trading, work, and worrying you're doing.
Another interesting tidbit is that we have an acount for our grandkids with a smallish amount ($40K) so I just put them in mostly VDY which has a YTD total return of 11.29%. (and I actually care about total return for them as each grandkid gets their share wjen they graduate high school).
