It is an investor they need- at least a billion dollars to start. After a few years of that not happening they went to the feds for a billion, starting around this time 2020. That blew up in public a year ago.
It would not have been called investment, but not "assistance" either.
Pieridae pretends it has almost everything in place, But it does not, and that if nothing else is going to keep real investors away. One of the things they do not have in spades is pipeline capacity anywhere close to ready. And that is the thing that Sorensen talked about the most and most forcefully about- the feds better help them on that, or this is never getting anywhere.
Think about what that means- they do not even have an application in for capacity expansion yet. And everyone knws how long those approvals are taking. With uncertainty like that- who is going to invest?
