The latest is quite interesting to me. The Russians are now demanding that the Germans pay for their natural gas in roubles as opposed to US dollars. The Germans say that this development could trigger a natural gas emergency. The question then becomes "Where does Germany get the roubles to pay for the gas?"....and more importantly - what exchange rate will they have to pay to convert their euros to roubles since essentially the only place they can buy roubles is from the Russians.
Interesting to say the least!!
