Buy on Fear / Sell on Greed / Hold Long

Buy on Fear / Sell on Greed / Hold LongThis is the method of trading used by Warren Buffett while Mr. Buffett is also anti-shorting.

He was asked in an interview "What do you do when you buy and the SP drops?"

His response was a chuckle and said "if I liked it at a higher price then I like it more if I can get it cheaper so I buy"

You may be thinking "that's easy for Buffett". which is true at the moment however if you watch enough Warren Buffett interviews he discusses his first trades where he was dealing with a few hundred dollars and rode out the lows.  He admitted that his hold time was longer than he expected but he held regardless.

New investors need to realize that they should not set a budget that they cannot afford to have tied up for a long period of time and will not get worried / emotional about it.  If that is a few hundred dollars then go with that, if it's a few grand or more then that's all you get to play with, beyond your emotional limit you will always freak out on a pullback and end up taking a loss.
