RE:Manitoba could become Europe's not-so-secret weapon against Old story, old idea. Poor old Peter ain't the sharpest marble in the bag. At least he spared himself the embarrassment of losing another run at leader of the party. In theory it's true, especially the good for the country nation building rhetoric. Building a road or rail line is technically very challenging across 100kms of muskeg, lakes, rivers, wilderness to get to Churchill. The rail line was destroyed by weather nature. A similar fate for a pipeline would be disastrous. Opposition from the left, FN, American funded lobbyists and blockade protesters would mean huge huge delays and cost overruns if it ever happens. See transmountain to west coast. No, the answer/solution to shipping oil to Europe already exists or can be accomplished with relatively little upgrade to existing pipelines to Quebec. So frustrating nobody will be the adult in the room and do the right thing and just get it done.
