RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:news out - Skeena acquisitionPerhaps my last QEX Post

And so apparently it comes to an end.  Pleased with a profit, but unfortunately it came before the big move.

It would have been nice to get to see the results of Inel’s 43-101 and the previously announced other 2022 KSP development actions – coupled with an initial drill hole in Moat, as called for by another in a previous post.  It would have been good for all shareholders to know all these results prior to the establishment of a price and sale to some shareholders that have Board of Director representation and knowledge.

From the face of it, the purchase price seems very reasonable for the buyers (Skeena & Newmont)) – if I understand it correctly, basically Skeena does not have to provide any cash funding; they use the $27-28M they receive from Newmont (for Castle, North Roc, and other properties).  I believe I remember TB speculating that the value of just the relatively small area of Castle to be used for ‘Saddle Tailings storage’ by Newmont was probably worth in the realm of $20M – so it seems like Newmont gets a pretty good deal too; just $7-8M for the rest of Castle, North Roc, Heart Peaks, Sophia, and the other lands.

So then I wonder to myself ‘is there a potential white knight’?  I doubt it, because the obvious one that comes to mind is Newcrest – and even if they are interested, they’ve recently committed $3.5B to acquire Pretium, so that might stop them from stepping forward – although I wouldn’t be surprised if they were interested – that seems like a lot of good property, in great locations, for a very good price.  But unfortunately I must admit they are probably a long-shot.

So, unless there is change, I will bid you adieu - until we meet again!
