The Company is engaged in the acquisition, development and production of crude oil and natural gas in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and in the Eagle Ford in the United States. Its crude oil and natural gas operations are organized into three main operating areas: Light Oil USA (Eagle Ford), Light Oil Canada (Pembina Duvernay / Viking) and Heavy Oil Canada (Peace River / Peavine / Lloydminster). Its Eagle Ford assets are located in the core of the liquids-rich Eagle Ford shale in South Texas. The Eagle Ford shale covers approximately 269,000 gross acres of crude oil operations. Its Viking assets are located in the Dodsland area in southwest Saskatchewan and in the Esther area of southeastern Alberta. It also holds 100% working interest land position in the East Duvernay resource play in central Alberta.

As a reservoir engineer with more than 30 years experience, I want to give a little bit my opinion for clearwater (or call it spirit river) planned 18 net wells drilling in 2022. All the 18 wells are located in Peavine field based on the company’s April investor presentation.
Before horizontal production well drilling, vertical appraisal wells were already drilled using truck mounted drilling rig. The vertical wells were logged and the target zone were cored. As a result of the vertical appraisal wells drilling, net pay map can be obtained through contouring net pay thickness of each vertical well, and reservoir parameters (porosity, water saturation, and permeability) are evaluated using the cored samples.
The location of 2022 planed horizontal production well drilling is based on the above evaluation results. How to penetrate the reservoir of each lateral is also based on the above information, and the bit direction is controlled by MWD (Measurement While Drilling) equipment.
