North American Palladium Ltd. was purchased by Johannesburg-based Impala Platinum Holdings Limited for CA$1 billion in 2019.[9] Under the terms of the deal, Brookfield Business Partners was paid $570 million for its 81% stake in the company and minority shareholders were paid $19.74 per share.[10] From that point on, the Lac des Iles mine would be operated by the new company called Impala Canada Limited.

Mining Journal

If I remember right, the stock price was depressed for weeks and then came the offer and that was that.

Majority owner made a mint and wanted out.

Retail got what they got based on the stock price just before the sale.

This is at a time where NAP was making $1000USD+/ounce profit.  The stock price would simply not budge.

The new buyers then proceeded to print money with that mine at the time when palladium was surging.

NAP retail go the shaft.
