NJ and NY States Legalizedthe sale of recreational cannabis - the Governors signed the new laws in March and February of 2021 - one year ago.
To date, there is still ZERO sale of recreational cannabis in eitehr state, nad it's generally accepted that'll be a few more months - licencing, regualtions, committees, meetings, arguing, taxes, how the revenue will be spent - typical governemnt interference.
SO for all you FEDERAL legalizationists, if cannabis was to be legalzied TODAY on a federal level, there may be some positives in regards to financial institutions and cannabis LPs - but realistically, it would take two years before anything was actually fact as fara s teh sale of cannabis.
And regardless of federal legalization - each state would or would not pass thier own laws as to what happens in thei jurosdiction, regardless of whetehr or not it's federally legal. JUST LIKE IT HAPPENS TODAY - and if you look at NJ and NY, then it's still one to two years after legalization.
That's just the reality of governemnt involvement.
(remember Canada's 'screwed up 'roll-out?)
Ive posted before that of course the entire cannabis sector will see a postive upswing in share prices - but anything signifcant and/or sustained would be reflected in US MSO's, not near bankrupt companies sucha s Hexo - whose only foothold in the US is a rented, 45,000 sq ft quonset in Colorado.
