RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:CEO
There is the point that Almonty had a 640k throughput, then to increase to 1.2 mil.
The first part was for Plansee/GTP.
That grey building (my obsesion) still tells me that the mills in the first process building are also designed to be used for the nano plant.
So the first grind material gets split into two streams by using two large pumps to do the initial gravity part of the process., ie pump all slurry up to the top of the building for a cyclone separation which needs pumped moderate pressure feed to opperate, after this all the rest and with a bit more reclaimed/recycled water all the rest goes down through the various separation stages as a gravity process, so there is no more need to use electrical pumping as the product will just trickle down.
If this plant was on a flat ground site, everything would need to be pumped to the next process stage.
Many more pumps and no gravity.
The main reson for a gravity plant is to minimise the need to use powered. pumping
Frugal and smart.
- I like it when you talk dirty, nitty-gritty details of mining. Always learning something.
The second part seems to have been in play for many many years with South Korean Govt. and maybe LG/Samsung.
Of course Lewis will not say anything until it is writen in ink.
But I think this deal has been in play since the start with the latter, otherwise why would a ramp up happen ?.
- Well on this point, I gonna have to disagree with you. In my opinion, this is opportune timing.....being at the right place at the right time. Plus LB doing the right thing such as establishing a reputation of reliable delivery, negotiating a deal with Plansee, and negotiating the lowest interest rate loan with KFW.
- No one anticipated the shortage of semiconductor chips. In fact when COVID first hit, all semiconductor plants reduced their production. Who knew there would be high demand for computers for people to work from home. Plus the computers needed for remote conferencing. Then there is the migration to the Cloud by businesses. People also did not want to use public transportation, so the demand for personal vehicles increased. Then there is the pressure from Global Warming. But Global Warming has caused Gov'ts to push for clean energy and that too is putting pressure on technology.
- But 5ilver, you could be right (and I wrong). It could have been in the works and on the back burner. All of these issues occurred at the same time which could have expedited the deal. Is it a coincidence that the Sangdong output will exactly matches the production requirements of Plansee and Samsung need?
