RE:Also Just Trying To Follow Enbridge. . .

RE:Also Just Trying To Follow Enbridge. . .Yeah, not every week can have a deep dive into the value of the stock.  Sometimes there is just no direct ENB news and it is getting affected or not by market forces such as the Ukraine war.

I am all for leaving the politics out of the disussion but will admit that it is sometimes very relevant as they are the ones making the rules by whch the O&G sector has to play.

Comments like this political leader is stupid and that political leader is a dummy are not helpful or correct.  They are all at the highest levels of their field and that is not easy by any measure.

As a Liberal supporter, (feel free to pile on and start punching I am used to it on these boards by now), I can see why their policies are not popular among O&G supporters and I also see why they cry the "greenies" are against us.  Like the political spectrum there are different levels of enviromentalists from kill all people to save the planet to burn the planet to save all people.  I believe most of us land somewhere inbetween and that there is a happy medium of resources to conservation ratio that most of us would like to see achieved.  The planet does us no good if we rape it to the point of making it unliveable but what is the point of having a liveable planet if we are going to suffer through life while living on it.

From my perspective quite a few countries jumped the gun on condemning all fossil fuels and not realizing there needs to be a gradual shift with a bridge fuel such as Natural Gas and the others we need to be weened off slowly and gradually.  Up until recently, that shift has appeared to too slow or practically non-existant depending on how far you go back in time and I for one undertsand the frustration of the environmentalists that we are moving too slowly.  Quire frankly I think they are right and that we are too late.  I don't belive the tipping point that they have talked about can be stopped but maybe I am wrong and if not stopped maybe it can be controlled so that it doesn't result in unliveabe natural disaster after natural disaster at an ever escalating pace.

That being said I slao believe the Europeans were extremely short sighted in ther plans for eliminating all fossil fuels and nuclear power generatio.  They are paying the price for that now as are we to a certain extent.  We are also reaping the rewards.  Without the demand that Europe has created by their short-sightedness for a secure energy supply Enbridges pipes would not be as full (They have to ba at capicity of near that now) or as secure (Their is no way anybody is shutting down a safe operating pipe right now).  As a matter of fact efforets should be redoubled to seek approval of the Line 5 tunnel.  I believe they will find a more sympathetic ear and perhaps the importance of approving the project faster can be instilled on the powers that be.

Build a pipeline east?  You can try but Quebec seems like they don't want one.  Perhaps they can be convinced now.  Also, if it isn't benefiting Enbridge and they are not building it or operating it then why?  And why through Quebec?  If the praires are all westen provinces and they all want the pipe then why not to Hudson Bay in Manitoba and then LNG it from there?  The cold would help and if Ontario and Quebec ever decides that they were wrong just pipe it more east and south?

For whatever reason things have been done or not done it has contributed to a rising commidity price.  Something that just wasn't happening pre-pandemic and obviously wasn't looking like it would or else every one would have been fully invested in O&G.

Remember $40 oil? $2 Nat gas?  Don't tell me it was cheap because of Liberal policies.  If anything that should have made it more expensive.  Now that it is expensive everyone wants to make it more plentiful and sell more.  Well that lowers the price.  Doesn't it?

For whatever reasons the "greenies" in Europe and the US have done us a favour and created high demand and high prices.

I don't think you can have high demand and low prices but maybe i am wrong.

Either way the real hurdles to building more pipelines and lowerng demand on O&G is good for Enbridge.  As is the want for more wind turbines that Enbridge builds or solar facilites that Enbridge utilizes in the operations of its business.  They make the share price stable and rise at an angle equivalent to a utility that it is supposed to partly be.

ATHs are coming again before dips.  From there, we need growth.

Acquisitions?  Export terminal expansion? A westward NG pipe and LNG facility?

The landscape has changed for the entire world.  Will it change for Enbridge?

Go Enbridge! ;-)
