I love my Playstation II. : )

I love my Playstation II. : )Back at her boys, I'm having fun. Originally when I posted about Gamecube on 3/9/01 it was a forward looking statement assuming... "I don't believe that the Gamecube will produce as many units as previous Nintendo models. Nintendo is still stuck in the past. Playstation and the emergence of Microsoft into the arena will flatten any small players in the industry... Nintendo.. Sega.. They will have a firesale on Mario and Sonic." My words were alittle harsh. I applogise. Dragonx, you posted on 03/09/01. "Wrong! Nintendo isn't a small player! " That is true. What do they have for total volume in the video game market? I'm assuming 40-45%. I could be totally wrong. Please correct me if this is higher or lower. They have a strong name now with great names like Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, etc. I further posted. RE:Gamecube on 03/12/01. "Sorry dragonx... I was making a forward looking assumption that with both Microsoft and Sony in the video game industry there isn't much room for Nintendo to go but down in market share... My assumption was based souly on the fact that both companies have huge marketing potential compared to little old Nintendo and over the past few years Nintendo has not delivered products on a timely manner thus leading to market percentage decline. Assumptions, are just that. Since you do know "Nintendo isn't a small player." Please provide the forum with market share numbers for the past five years. I'm sure the forum would appreciate these numbers, along with myself." From here this I assume the following. For the next Generation of systems. Playstation II, MS X-Box and Nintendo Gamecube 45% Sony Playstation 33% Microsoft X-Box 22% Nintendo Game Cube I've figured this knowing Nintendo had 60-70% of market during Nintendo and Super Nintendo days, 40-45% during the Nintendo 64 days and a straight line would indicate the market position for the next generation of systems. I've also assumed that you dragonx know more about the video game market then I. Please provide those numbers. Pick up a video game magazine. It should be in the back. I've noticed that the_sleuth posted in "RE: $6.25....insanity" "Gamecube will be competing for second place against Xbox as nobody will dethrone Sony (too huge a lead in PS2 users)!! The key will be software and Nitendo has a formidable franchise with Super Mario characters and Sega's Sonic Hedgehog." I'm just giving Microsoft a 10% larger market share or 50% more market share then Nintendo. More then likely I'll be wrong. I wish you would have provided numbers for an arguement instead of you provide this on 03/12/01.. RE: Gamecube - LuckFfRiley "See here for yourself: https://www.nintendo.com/corp/index.html #1 Nintendo needs no hype Puget Sound Business Journal, February 16-22, 2001 While Microsoft tries to build hype for the Xbox, video game industry powerhouse Nintendo prepares to successfully launch Game Boy Advance and GameCube as they have done with many products. Nintendo, ranked number one last year in the video game entertainment industry, will release more details about forthcoming systems at May's E3 trade show." Who is Puget Sound Business Journal, February 16-22, 2001. On Nintendo's website. Looks like hype to me from a no name magazine. Neon, you were kind enought to counter my request for market share which I assumed dragonx would have with an arguement against Microsoft. Two negative don't make a positive. RE: LuckOfRiley(Microsoft?) "Hey there, Please provide proof of Microsoft's ability to increase market share in "anything", lately. Palm, Handspring, and RIM, haven't been affected by their(Microsoft's), recent bombs, in the handheld(wireless) markets." I'm thinking, Sony was big and Sony took a large slice of the market and Sega is almost toast. Microsoft is bigger and Microsoft is going to take a big bite as well and Nintendo is the little guy this time around (Note for dragonx: they currently have a really large chunk of the market now). They (Microsoft) own the personal computers operating system, they own the internet browser market, they own the office software market and they are working at others including the gaming and wireless market. Microsoft has a tendancy to write the rules, gaming and wireless are only new ventures. Grumpy, "that one didn't work riley..." Real good come back. You didn't provide any thing of substance? Why did you even say anything? If you all are worried about ATI going down. It's possible. People lose money on the market all the time. By looking at your responses I'm assuming you have all lost dearly being so negative. Keep trying, things will get better. As for my over all view of the company please see my posting on 03/08/01: $4.00 and I'm in... "Ha Ha Ha ... $5.00 On a positive note. This stock is definately oversold but in the wrong sector and at a bad point in time. If it never come back to its magic number I wish all you holders all the profits. Things will return to a more profitable state in the future. They do take time. Be assured that.... 1. Graphic chip use is not going to disappear. We are Canadian!! We can do anything better then American's." Good luck to all Riley P.S. Even though I have a Playstation II I'll still make money on ATI. :)
