  • Its going to take time to find another quality mine and yes I am really earily in making this suggestion as Almonty has a lot to focus on. But a good strategist always plans ahead and adjust those plans accordingly.
  • And LB should know this because look how long they had their eye set on Sangdong. We should use a similar approach but hopefully one that comes with Gov't and business relationships.

There is only one country in the World that I can think of that has a massive potential for Tungsten and many more untapped reserves. North Korea.

China has been nibbling and supporting them for so long to try to get the honey.
Of course they dont trust each other, along with China/Russia relationships..

While I was working in North Vietnam back in the late 1980's on a $13mil coal process plant upgrade, the Vietnam Communist Govt. welcomed us with an immediate passport seizure. That was not on my itinerary
The fun part was that we carried our own Inmarsat comms systems through customs in three big cases off the plane at Hanoi airport, the custom guard asked what it was, I said "Inmarsat", dumb look and on we go for a 7 hour trip to site.

This thing was a satellite dish that we bolted to the railing of our self built on site accommodation sent by ship that had a fully functional kitchen 10 sleeping rooms, toilets, showers, generator, tv/video, a Toyota right hand drive 4wd car and the rest. Oh and a ping pong table.

This setup allowed us to send and recieve fax text and bad images as well as to phone home at certain times of the day/night. (very expensive back then)
To set this up you have to read the instructions twice, find north and then move the dish untill you get a constant solid signal sound..
We also had about 18 walkie talkies to converse with the 2 or 3 interpreters at times and our selves. It was a very large site, with 300 workers on and off on site.

At the end of my 4-5 months on site the Govt. ding dongs realised we had a independant coms. system, so they said it has to go along with the hand held radios, and we said, do that and we will leave now, otherwise we can not operate.

That prompted one of our members to go back to Hanoi to see the Australian Ambassador to sort this out with the Minerter Of Energy of Vietnam and so they both made a trip to our site to talk.

We had a dinner with the local fools on this so it was resolved very fast.
So us, as workers went out on the town in the car as we have always done for almost a year only to be pulled over by the local police.
Here I am on the left front seat of the 4wd and the cop says "show me your license", bang, I whip it out and point out to him it is an intenational license that has a Vietnamese approval.
This is the best part.

He seems to approve, then he says "you are not driving" (right hand drive car)
They have left hand drives, and I said no I'm not, he is.

I was p*ssing my self in drunken laughter along with the others in the car.
The cops moved us up to the police station, and I said "can I go now  I was not driving ?"
They said yes, and as I was walking back only 300 metres to the accommodation, one cop said " you are not good friend to run away", I said "I'll be back very soon with some more friends"
Well the Australian Ambassador, Minister Of Energy a few minders and some more all drove up to the police station in a very ritzy limo (to me it was a garbage Russian heap of shlt).
One hour of BS and the deal was made with three cartons of cigaretes and a US $10 pay per person for a local drivers license. No test required.

After a few years later I found out that the local cops, council, mine managers were all sacked and two jailed.
The coal washery plant is now under a China mob I think at last look.
Now this town of Campha that was the poorest in the poorest province of Quang ninh province is now a place to seek out for tourists and is flourishing beyond what I would ever have expected..
3,000 islands in the bay of Halong.
