If you haven't already, take a look at the regulator's website: https://www.iiroc.ca/sections/markets/reports-statistics-and-other-information/short-sale-trading-statistics-and-reports . I'm not sure why brokers are given the opportunity/ability to hide behind the "Anon" label/tag. At the end of each month they're required to diclose a breakdown of which brokers used it. Often times there will be a large % of volume related to short selling activity but the net short position will barely change. This makes me wonder if high frequency traders or prop desks may be manipulating/profiting from other investors/traders' activities. May not be as much of an issue for CUB but you never know.
TD (somebody) was doing the same dumping theme like the BMO somebody for awhile until BMO showed up and the anon tag is a scam. Here's the definition
Anon Definition in other words it's a legal way to steal from retail schmucks. There's also no reason why short trades can't be real time just like long trades. Publishing short data twice a month is clearly purposeful. Legal theft all around. Then brokers and regulators go for beers together and spend their winnings.

Different sectors but still Canada. Canada doesn't even have a federal securities regulator like the US SEC. They're all provincial. That also says a lot. I just wrote about this subject on another bullboard. The SEC is very aggressive in regulating markets. In Canada it's a joke.
These guys need news (and I mean sales) but I still say that if there is no (sales) news early morning/early week then it's an open invitation for people with algo's to manipulate all day/week long in my opinion.
