RE:RE:RE:Shorts CoveringStocks will POP due to short covering because of unexpected good news. The opposite is true when there is little to no short position. In other words, there is little to no fuel (short covering) to add to the fire (good news).
What the little to no short position may indicate is that the shorters are unwilling to bet against the odd of news, be it good or not.
The optimal situation is a large short position with unexpected excellent news.
