idk about you but just out of principle I wouldn't keep holding a stock of a company who did this to its shareholders, even if there is a chance it goes back up. think of the people who bought at ~$1. They will likely never, ever see that money back. The company knew about the existence of the shares this SP destruction was done with and the person who sold them banked on everyone's ignorance.
Not literally a scam in legal terms, but in practical working definition it is one.
