An electric vehicle will give you, what eight years? Factor in the difference in price when new and you'll quickly find that the end cost is probably in favor of the gas powered vehicle. Factor in the pollution created by making electricity, making the battery, not to mention the depletion of rare ressources, recycling (if possible) the dead batteries, production of plastic and disposal of plastic or whatever a Tesla car is made of and humans will soon find out that the current model for electric vehicles isn't the answer to the greenhouse effect. A 8 year old Tesla is worth about 0$. An 8 year old f150 with 280000km is still worth anywhere between 12k-25k.

So let's go with average mid size car at 65 litre gas tank.....
If you communte to work and use 4 tanks a month that is 260 litres....
At 2 bucks which is coming for BC and Ontario...that 520 dollars a month in gas.....
If you charge at home...about 10 dollars a charge. Even if range is shorter...70-80 bucks a month in power vs 520 right now.
For anyone that puts on alot of mileage to work daily...EVS will make sense when they are avaible and own your own garage.
Quit drinking the Koolaid...
They WILL start charging the road tax that EV's are currently side stepping. Gasoline sales and their associated taxes start going down, and the Government is sure as hell going to start looking for those easy dollars...
Quit being naive.
