RE:Shopify CEO takes a swing at analysts

RE:Shopify CEO takes a swing at analysts What he said is true and anyone who has been involved in investing for a decent amount of time knows not to rely on analyst predictions to make investment decisions.  This is especially true of the talking heads on TV.

The question in my mind is....Why did he say it?  What did he hope to accomplish?

To put his comments into perspective, one of the reasons I have been married for so long is that when my wife askes me "Do you think I look good in this dress?"   I always respond "Yes".  If I said "No", I would be in a world of hurt.  IMO the CEO of SHOP should have known better and by making these comments (even if they are true) was not acting in the best interests of his shareholders.

In my experience, most CEOs "play the game" with analysts and the more succesful ones stay laser focussed in maximizing returns for their shareholders.  Those that don't are generally promoters of junior companies whose shareholders are primarily gamblers.
