I did see and hear you thank the team even though I didn't know it was you, and you did an excellent job. Our first GH purchases occurred on Feb. 1, 2011 at $11.00 a share. I know that both you and kasking have been shareholders for far longer than us. Our whole family are shareholders, the youngest grandchild is 9 and she has her shares in a RESP. My son and I were acknowledged as regular attendies of the AGMs at the meeting. My son and I try to make a day of the AGM and always have dinner at the Red Lobster prior to heading home. However, the both of us helped out the shareholders by losing just over a grand prior to getting to dinner. For the first time at the meeting, we ran out of white wine and then I noticed that those drinking beer also ran out of prior to the ending. I guess that saved GH a couple of dollars. I was glad to hear that both David and Darcy rely on the dividends for an income and went without for the duration of the dividend halt. Interesting info on how long it took to get the OK in the Fort for the final designs for the major renovations at the Riverside, these Municipalities have an endless amount of procedures which require an endless amout of time prior to getting approval. It appears that all 3 Casinos are renovated for the long term so the facilities are in excellent shape and we'll just have to gradually pay down that cost over time. We're living in some hectic and unpredictable times but it looks like our investments in GH should do well.
Where the story gets interesting is that ceo and vp get paid from a modest percentage of gross revenues. So when the business doesn't generate revenues, the execs dont earn their compensation. We all have come to expect a dividend and many of us rely on it as part of our incomes. Pandemic turned it upside down on us and we had to ride it out the same as everybody. Conservative divided is back and it feels like once debts are paid down to a level that suits founders, then I would expect there's room for growth of dividend from current levels. Investments like GH offer both capital appreciation plus dividend income. If we don't have major global recession, there is room here for 50% upside in share price plus 50% upside in dividend from current level. We had an exceptional experience at the Deerfoot. Ate at mojave, cactus and the wild horse. Loved it. Renovations and expansions all exceeded expectations. Calgary Deerfoot is the benchmark for regional entertainment and lodging in AB. Bridge u get to AGM early next year, you'll have some beers to buy after shares are north of $10
