RE:I took 5 minutes looking at Shopify's Financials And Was Raging Bull3:
You are quite the super hero.
I was a financial analyst and I used to spend many days analysing the financial statements of a company, building a relationship with the CFO, and then building a predictive financial model.
The predictive model started with the cash flows of the company and then incorporating the information into an income statement which would then provide the input for a balance sheet.
One I had built my model, I would then speak with the CFO of the company to run my assumptions by him and to fact check. Typically, there would be revisions and a follow up call.
Then I would create a research report and run it by our head of research who would invariably check in with the investment banking side if our firm did any underwriting work.
Once the report was ready, it would be shared with our institutional traders before it was made public to give the guys a head start.
The entire process has many layers and is time consuming.
I tip my cap to your super power of being able to analyse "the financial statements" in 5 minutes and come up with a definitive analysis. Perhaps you would like to share which statements you were referring to and what factors caught your eye to trigger your conclusions.
I don't like using the IGNORE button, but it comes in handy when blowhards just can't help themselves.
