Regarding the full article for the rumour, it is a paid Aussie site, and I'm not a member so I only had the short Synopsis.

It is this rumour which I believe prompted CMMC to issue the press release stateting "there are no pending transactions with respect to the Eva Copper Project of any nature to note at this time"

It was just a really odd release and I wanted to find out why the felt the need to release it. All that being said, just because there is nothing to note at this time doesn't mean that there won't be in the future. Quiet possibly, correct confidential information was released and CMMC was forced to respond.
