Sherritt AGMI listened into a very uneventful AGM. I think there were two "live" questions. One retail shareolder/noteholder by the name of David Emery (spelling?) was going on in a very complimentary manner about how many shares Leon Binedell has purchased since joining the company. He reminded me of the poster in this room who scolded me when I complained about the lack of insider buying a couple of months ago! To his credit he did bring up the topic of DSU's and the opacity surrounding the way they work and how retail investors, didn't have the time or expertise to figure that topic out. I would have given him more credit had he brought the topic up prior to the vote on the compensation package for 2022! He politely asked if the company would look into it.
The second question came from a former director, from the good old days, when Ian Delaney ran Sherritt. He discussed the three different eras of Sherritt, the Delaney era, the Pathe days (repairing the balance era) and the Binedell robust commodity price era). He too brought up the topic of the DSU compensation package.
Not a single question came from the online community. What does that tell you?
I didn't ask a question as I am not a shareholder of record for the purposes of this AGM, but I do own the 10.75% notes, the entire issue of which the company would like to buy back.
