OK, I’m now doing what some said I should have done in the first place. This is a condensed version of my experiences. I live in Kenora Ontario. I’m originally from Guelph Ontario. After Covid I planned a trip by car to clear up some loose ends with family and friends. Since I was in Guelph I thought I might get a chance to see the factory. I called Francis he told me to let him know when I was near and I started my journey.
I really wanted to get a look at the mine since I would be driving by within 15 km. But Francis suggested there would be nothing to see and the road would be a mess with the spring thaw. As I drove by the County Road off highway 11, I thought “maybe next time”.
When I got to Toronto I called Francis to let him know that I was near and that it would be great to see him. He was not in town but after I told him I wrote an article about masks, including Zen he said that we would instruct his site manager to let me come and see how things were going on a “press” pass. He also expressed enthusiasm when I told him my father-in-law was a poster by the name of “aunt Lizzie”
Upon arriving in Guelph I was welcomed with open arms and I got to see how things were going. When you first walk in the door you see the whole factory. There is nothing fancy here. There was no false front nor any reception area. No waste of space. To my left were over 50 giant liquid containers that are used for emulsion farther down there were bags of minerals used for filtering And beside that were skids of fabric ready to be sent out to manufacturers. I counted about 20. Each skid I believe represents 100,000 masks.
On the right side is something that I must say looks like a brewery. There is one station of four giant chrome containers hooked up to pipes that is meant for turning the graphite into a gooey like substance. Beside them higher up is another group of giant vats. They turn this goo Into a concentrate that can be applied to the fabric. Beside that I think there might be an emulsion tank. When I was there, I saw six employees working away. My visit was short but I saw enough to give me the confidence that the factory is up and running, producing product, and shipping it out. I felt a great feeling of relief for I’ve been hot and cold on Zen for almost 10 years but not once did I ever sell a share.
After my visit I wanted to get some masks and save shipping costs, so I decided to drive to Trebor in Collingwood on my way back to Kenora. I thought it would be great to see what someone was doing with the raw product. This was another eye-opening experience. The person who runs the company, George Irwin is a very successful businessman. He is committed and very very smart. He is using the same fabric to create the best masks on the market. I got the impression he truly believes in his product and he believes in Zen.
As I was driving home I contacted Francis to ask if it was OK if I wrote an article. He said OK, and that’s where we are today. In a nutshell I am even MORE confident in Zen having seen the components that make up this whole process of manufacturing. Everyone I talked to was very committed to making this a successful company. They don’t talk about stock price, they talk about the product and I found in the past that these are the types of companies that succeed for they are not answerable to the shareholders they are guided by their own personal integrity.
One more note, over the past 24 hours all the negative feedback I have received from when I first posted, I now realize it comes from people that really do believe in Zen and they are very suspicious of anything that doesn’t quite look right. I thought my post was innocuous but others looked a little too deep. I can’t fault you and I don’t know what the naysayers of been saying for I don’t follow the board on a regular basis. I have a great deal of my retirement funds tied up in Zen, I want Zen to succeed. It’s exciting to see all the future possibilities of what graphene and graphite can do and I wholeheartedly put my support behind the company and management. I’m also guessing that a lot of you feel the same way. In my next article for my paper I’m going to be writing about my experience while not mentioning names. It will be from the moment I bought my first Zen shares to my experiences on this board. I will try to get some pictures up, if You want, email me at mrkdrk@shaw.ca and I will send them to you personally.
