I have to say I was a bit critical a few quarters back as management seemed to be overpromising and under delivering but i'm im starting to become more confident in what they were saying. I think they were seeing the trend change more so with the data they had compared to the results at the time. I do believe we are on a positive trend. I'm actually surprised that the shareprice did not improve more as q1 was released. I think one of the main issues is that most people don't know about this story.
My next questions to management would be: how do they see investors gaining in this position eventually... Dividends, share buybacks, organic growth by investing in more sales force to go after more medium sized businesses? Maybe trying to be aquired?
I think it is just a matter of time before we get noticed more especially on an improving financial balance sheet (debt paydown) and an increasing revenue growth forcast.
The share price is unlikely to move significantly higher unless we get some positive feedback on the economy and I would say this is true for most companies. The share price has been holding up well in an absolute slaughterfest out there. When economies are struggling, it's always the smaller cap companies that get hit the hardest so there is that negative sentiment as well. Then, when the economy bounces back, it's these companies such as Data Communication that come roaring back.
The main thing for me is debt pay down. When a company has debt, it is difficult for the company to grow because cash flow is being used to pay down its debt. When you are debt free, the excess cash can be used for new investment opportunities which would ultimately grow the business. At the current rate, they could be debt free in 3 years or less.
