Surge Energy Inc (Alberta) T.SGY

Alternate Symbol(s):  ZPTAF | T.SGY.DB.B

Surge Energy Inc. is a Canada-based oil focused exploration and production (E&P) company. The Company's business consists of the exploration, development and production of oil and gas from properties in Western Canada. It holds focused and operated light and medium gravity crude oil properties in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, characterized by large oil in place crude oil reservoirs with low recovery factors. It offers exposure to two of the five conventional oil growth plays in Canada: the Sparky and SE Saskatchewan. It holds a dominant land position and is drilling a mix of horizontal multi-frac and horizontal multi-lateral wells in the Sparky area. Sparky is a large, well established oil producing fairway in Western Canada. SE Saskatchewan is a focused operated asset base with light oil operating netbacks. SE Saskatchewan operates low-cost wells with short payouts and offers potential for continued area consolidation.

Look here...
* past 12 months... Insiders... 48 buys vs. 6 sells
* past 6 months... Insiders... 16 buys vs. 3 sells
* past 3 months... Insiders... 0 buys vs. 2 sells (Murray Bye)

This hardly looks like a free-for-all insider selling spree. There is no trend of selling that we as shareholders should interpret as pessimisim and be concerned about.

Surely you must be aware of the many potential reasons why one would sell a portion of his total holdings... fund the purchase of a new home, diversify his personal assets, divorce... the list is lengthy. I wouldn't put too much weight behind the fact that a lone insider is selling some shares of company stock.

On the contrary, if multiple insiders were making the same move, that would seem to suggest that there is a concensus among those in the know that the stock price is headed in a particular direction that would afford us concern.
