RE:inflation in canada is at 10% highest it haS BEEN SINCE theThe 70s wasn't the Great Depression The 30s where 
and the posted inflation rate in Canada right now is 6.7% ( I do believe the real inflation # to be much higher like 18% ) 
all banks are over priced right now and yes the banks have never cut their dividends they have suspended them in the past 
once the P/E gets below 9 I would consider buying but not until then 
All banks loan lossses wil grow over the next couple years 
banks have made a lot of money administrating government Covid programs those are coming to an end this year for the most part 
also we are in a housing bubble and rates are going up bad for banks spread will shrink so hang on until P/E  is under 9
