Leo still whining that YFI is old techI see that Leo is whining to Tom ford that Andrew is still hawking old tech for 11 yrs now. Actually Andrew is hawking standard legacy single channel wifi standards which are much older than 11 yrs. It is just YFI happens to apply spectrum slicing to these past and present standards that makes the diffference.
Truth be known, the biggest changes in the wi-fi tech world over the last number of years have evolved from the phenomenal growth in high density wi-fi environments. Whereas little of significance has changed over these same years from legacy single channel wi-fi technology that chose to make incremental technology improvements more centering in hope of offsetting the problems born from this high density wi-fi scenario. YFI`s spectrum slicing technology on the other hand made significant improvements to their wi-fi technology over the years but ironically needed only a few of these improvements to conduct a comparative performance POC and pilot, to convince a Tier 1, that more channels and hence channel capacity is now the new kid on the block.
However, the current state of affairs raises many other questions worth answering. Why did this Tier 1 defy leo`s advice that the tech is old and worthless. And why did it take this long to pique their curiosity by conducting a comparative POC and pilot? Were they all that surpised with the results or was it what was expected? Was there more than one Tier 1 sharing the costs? Not such a bad idea and form an alliance. And do you realize how much more simpler it is for the marketing boys of the current status quo, to convince the public of how great wi-fi6/E is when you only have to compare it to the older standard. lol Could you imagine the sh-t show in the industry if YFI was 2 yrs ahead of schedule and they had to address our existence when marketing wi-fi6? Is there a grander scheme that has been enacted that determines the how, and when this tech will be finally adopted minimizing the discomfort of certain parties and also maximizing their future gains? If I can strategize it all, is has to be simple and feasible. lol These boys are pros at keeping secrets although they are not adverse to giving out hints. On-shore, near shore. Who has the most ability to pull this off? Who out there is the most ambitious and adventuresome? Who has the MO to sit out this period and if they like what they see when the dust settles----pounce? Development kit plus open sourcing has to have whetted many appetites.
Exciting to witness. But then again, others find this all a waste of time and would rather walk their dog and pick up it`s.......
