RE:RE:Huh? Globe and mail headline. Of course it's stupid. And hypocritical. And pompous. May as well assume the liquification compressors are powered by burning unicorn farts. I'm far too odious to even attempt to be cute.

What does count here is the tons of emissions burnt for the liquification compressors. So the government is saying they are fine with LNG exports if producing it is "Net Zero". Electrifying the compressors would do that. But since there is not that much power available for that, there would have to be a massive new renewables project for powering the compressors.

ieridae says it wants to get to Net Zero with massive carbon capture and storage. Which is no more realistic.
