"Gold exploration in the Gander area during the 1980’s and early 1990’s resulted in the discovery of several gold occurrences, including the Knob and Bullet Prospects, along the south-western extension of the Appleton Linear to the south of the Trans Canada Highway (TCH). Exploration was carried out to the north-northeast along the Appleton Linear in the same time period extending into the 2000’s, by Noranda, Gander River Minerals, the KriASK Syndicate, United Carina Corp., Candente Resources, and Rubicon / Paragon / Sprott Resources. Work has included prospecting, line cutting, soil geochemistry, ground geophysical surveys (VLF-EM, Magnetics, IP), trenching and diamond drilling which tested gold targets along the Linear including, among others, the Dome, Road, Lotto and Keats/Baseline Prospects."
