RE:NG transportation: niche, not mainstream
Yasch22, I have some reservations about this "fait accompli" of an EV path we are apparently on;
concerns about battery "performance" in extreme conditions, such as high-water situations (submerged battery), and serious collisions. I'm sure you remember this article from 2021:

Because I'm not convinced an EV in a high-water/collision situation is more survivable (perhaps less) than an ICE vehicle in similar circumstance, my own go-forward preferences would be: 1) smaller engines for ICE vehicles
2) hybrid vehicles
before going "full 100% EV."
As EVs form a higher percentage of traffic, we will belatedly learn as to the soundness of society's choice(s).
